World Mental Health Day 2026: iSELF Promotes Mental Health Awareness at IUBAT University
Mental health awareness can begin with a simple conversation, an engaging activity, or the courage to ask for help. This World Mental Health Day 2026, iSELF brought this belief to life at IUBAT University through interactive activities designed to help students understand mental health in a fun, engaging, and meaningful way.
As a mental health and wellness organization in Bangladesh, iSELF participated in this special initiative to encourage open conversations about mental well-being, stress management, emotional awareness, and the importance of seeking professional support when needed.
The event brought together organizations working in mental health and well-being, creating an opportunity to connect with students, exchange ideas, and make mental health awareness more accessible to the university community.

Celebrating World Mental Health Day 2026 Through Awareness and Action
World Mental Health Day is an important opportunity to highlight the value of mental well-being and encourage people to take their mental health seriously.
Mental health is an essential part of overall well-being. It influences how we think, feel, manage stress, build relationships, make decisions, and navigate everyday challenges.
For university students, academic pressure, examinations, career uncertainty, financial concerns, and changing relationships can sometimes become overwhelming. Creating a supportive environment where students can talk about these challenges without fear of judgment is an important step toward a healthier campus community.
Through its participation at IUBAT University, iSELF aimed to make mental health awareness more relatable, accessible, and engaging for students.

Fun Times with iSELF: Learning About Mental Health Through Games
One of the highlights of the iSELF stall was “Fun Times with iSELF,” a series of interactive games designed to combine enjoyment with learning.
Instead of limiting mental health awareness to traditional discussions, we encouraged students to participate, interact with one another, and explore different aspects of their mental well-being through engaging activities.
Students' Enthusiasm Made the Experience Meaningful
The enthusiastic participation of IUBAT students made the experience especially rewarding for the iSELF team.
Students actively engaged with our activities, enjoyed the interactive games, and appreciated the opportunity to learn about mental health in a different way. Their positive responses and encouraging feedback reinforced the importance of making mental health education approachable and engaging.
For us, the value of the event went beyond participation or the number of activities completed. It was about creating opportunities for students to reflect on their own well-being, learn something useful, and become more aware of the importance of mental health.
Every meaningful conversation, every question asked, and every new insight gained represented a step toward a more informed and supportive community.

Connecting Students with Professional Mental Health Support
Alongside the interactive activities, students also had the opportunity to connect with our in-house therapist and learn about mental health support.
Recognizing that someone may be struggling is an important first step. Knowing where to seek help is equally important.
Persistent stress, anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, and emotional challenges can affect everyday life. When these experiences become difficult to manage, speaking with an experienced psychologist or another qualified mental health professional can help individuals better understand their concerns and explore appropriate support.
At iSELF, we believe that seeking help should be viewed as a positive step toward well-being—not a source of shame or embarrassment.
Our goal is to help people feel more comfortable discussing mental health and understanding the support available to them.
Why Mental Health Awareness Matters for University Students in Bangladesh
Mental health awareness is particularly important in educational environments, where young people are preparing for their professional and personal futures.
University students may experience pressure related to academic performance, family expectations, employment prospects, financial responsibilities, and social relationships. When these challenges are not addressed, they can affect concentration, motivation, relationships, and overall quality of life.
Promoting mental health awareness in Bangladesh means helping students and communities recognize these challenges, respond with empathy, and understand when professional support may be helpful.
Universities, families, organizations, and mental health professionals all have a role to play in creating environments where emotional well-being is valued alongside academic and professional achievement. Initiatives like the World Mental Health Day event at IUBAT University provide valuable opportunities to encourage these conversations and make mental health a more visible part of everyday life.

Amazing Work. Go ahead iself.
